Tranto Trucks Pty Ltd (ABN 65 635 160 753) (“Tranto”, “we”, “us”) builds, sells, hires and repairs trucks and truck bodies from our yard at Coopers Plains, Brisbane. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your personal information, including when you use tranto.com.au. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
We only collect what we need to deal with you. Depending on how you contact us, this can include:
- Contact details: your name, business name, phone number, email address and postcode or suburb.
- Enquiry details: the truck, body, hire or repair you’re asking about, sizes and options, timing, the truck’s rego or stock number, and your message.
- Finance details you enter: the truck, deposit, loan term and repayment estimates from our calculator.
- Files you upload with a build request, such as drawings or photos.
- Records of our calls, emails and visits with you, and of quotes, sales, hire agreements and repairs.
- Website usage information: the pages you visit, your device and browser, your approximate location and how you reached our site, including whether you clicked one of our ads.
We don’t ask for sensitive information such as health details, and we ask that you don’t include it in a form or message.
How we collect it
Mostly directly from you: when you fill in a form on our website, call or email us, or visit the yard. Some website information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technology (see “Website, cookies and analytics” below).
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and prepare quotes.
- To sell, build, hire, deliver and repair trucks and bodies, and to keep records of what we’ve supplied.
- To refer you to our finance partner when you ask for finance (see below).
- To run our business, including accounts, insurance and meeting our legal obligations.
- To understand how our website and advertising perform, so we can improve them.
Finance enquiries
When you send a finance enquiry or ask us for finance, we pass your contact details and the truck details to our finance partner, Credit One, so they can contact you directly with finance options. Credit One handles your information under its own privacy policy.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only where needed for the purposes above, with:
- Credit One, for finance enquiries.
- Businesses that help us run our operations, including our website host and developer (Magik Digital), our email and IT providers, and Google (see below).
- Our professional advisers, such as our accountant, lawyers and insurers.
- Government agencies or others where the law requires or allows it.
Enquiries sent through our website are emailed to our team and a copy is kept in our website’s admin area.
Website, cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technology from Google:
- Google Analytics tells us how people use the site, such as which pages are visited, the type of device, the approximate location and how visitors arrived. We use it in aggregate, not to identify you.
- Google Ads conversion measurement tells us when someone who clicked one of our ads goes on to send an enquiry or tap our phone number, so we can tell which ads are working.
- Google reCAPTCHA protects our forms from spam. It checks information such as your device and browser and sends it to Google.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), and manage ad personalisation in Google’s My Ad Center (myadcenter.google.com). Google’s own use of this information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Information held overseas
Some of the services we use, including Google’s analytics, advertising, spam protection and email services, may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use providers that take reasonable steps to protect personal information.
Marketing
We may contact you about your enquiry, quote or purchase. We will only send you marketing messages if you have agreed or the law otherwise allows it, and you can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe option or contacting us.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including a secure (HTTPS) website, password-protected systems and limiting access to the people who need it. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires (for example, tax records), and then delete or de-identify it.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we aim to respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
